(DSI) is a privately owned company, who provides a complete total waste solution to the USA market, with services including the provision of the Daniels Sharpsmart System (Collectors, Accessories and washers), transportation of medical and sharps waste, and treatment and disposal of medical waste.   DSI also mines surgical sharps collectors for sale of re-usable medical devices. And provides a number of related services into the market.

    Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to personnel.                                

    Responsibilities

    • Operate communication systems, such as telephone, switchboard, intercom, two-way radio, or public address
    • • Answer incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls and/or taking messages as necessary
    • • Perform clerical duties, such as typing, proofreading, accepting orders, scheduling appointments, and sorting mail
    • • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers
    • • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer
    • • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints
    • • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities
    • • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
    • • Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine
    • • Provide information about establishment such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided
    • • Receive or prepare work orders

    Qualifications

    Physical Requirements:

    • Occasionally working in confined spaces
    • • Occasionally lifting, walking, bending, and pushing 
    • • Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights of less than twenty (20) pounds; 
    • • Sitting for extended periods of time

    Professional Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED required 
    • • Knowledge of office equipment such as fax, copier and phone 
    • • Knowledge Accounting software and routing software
    • • Knowledge of Word processing and Excel software
    • • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
    • • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
    • • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
    • • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times;
    • • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively
    • • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience;
    • • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
