The Lead Hand – Washsmart Plant Production role is responsible for operating all the processes within the plant on the overnight shift from 11:00 PM- 7:00 AM .

The Lead Hand – Plant Production reports directly to the Plant Operations Supervisor. The Lead Hand – Plant Production role will be responsible for understanding and operating all the processes within the plant in order to meet the production requirements. They will be accountable for overseeing and ensuring the quality control of Daniels containers. This individual will liaise with the Plant Operations Supervisor to share information related to the employee relations items. Finally, this individual will also be trained on how to troubleshoot minor machine repairs. When production problems arise, the Lead Hand will be responsible for notifying the Plant Operations Supervisor and/or remote Engineering Team. They are also responsible for keeping oncoming operators informed on the current status of processes and adhering to company policies and procedures.


  • Ensure that the Team achieves daily and weekly production targets (measured by containers per hour)
  • Ensure daily checklist is complete and provided to Plant Operations Supervisor
  • Inspect and supervise quality control on a daily basis, and conduct random audits within the plant facility
  • Inspect and supervise maintenance requirements on a daily and weekly basis
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct potential machine faults and escalate findings to technicians when required
  • Minimize machine error codes through proper inspection, maintenance and cleaning schedules
  • Ensure parts inventory is clean, organized and up-to-date via cycle counts
  • Create parts order form for Plant Operations Supervisor
  • Ensure orders are completed each day and sufficient transporters are available for Drivers for the following morning
  • Assist with proper scheduling of 64, cytotoxic, pharmaceutical containers
  • Provide recommendations on shift times, including scheduled maintenance and cleaning times
  • Ensure all manifest paperwork is complete and on-time
  • Ensure stock of chemical products and other supplies are on hand in adequate quantities
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment and ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Other duties as required by the company and management


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). One year related experience or training or combination of experience and training.
  • Demonstrates a mechanical aptitude with previous experience troubleshooting mechanical systems
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail with the ability to uphold, maintain and supervise quality expectations
  • Demonstrates communication skills and possesses the ability to direct other associates and liaise with vendors
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Must be willing and able to work statutory holidays and overtime as required.
  • Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing
  • Demonstrates knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations
  • Obtains valid forklift certification and experiencing using counterbalance forklift
