Summary: Oversee service delivery of Daniels containers which are used to transport medical waste between associated health facilities and Daniels medical waste treatment facilities. Daniels 28’ Straight Trucks are MTO regulated, and may carry up to 26,000 lbs of waste at any given time.



  • Delivers items by in accordance with scheduled route and servers customers by understanding, resolving and/or forwarding complaints
  • Loads and unloads truck by placing and securing items in such a manner that prevents damage to small means of containment
  • Accurately records information on packing slip and manifest, ensuring compliance with TDG Regulations
  • Competently performs pre-trip and post-trips inspections with the intent of identifying minor and major defects, and also completes daily driver log book
  • Maintains safe operation by complying with organization operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as local driving rules and regulations
  • Operates vehicle in a defensive manner, such as to prevent motor vehicle accidents
  • Properly maintains vehicle cab and communicates requirements for maintenance if needed
  • Diligently completes Daniels' commercial vehicle cleaning and disinfecting protocol on a daily basis
  • Comply with all environmental & health and safety policies and procedures
  • Inspects all waste at pick-up for packaging ensure adherence to compliance regulations
  • Completes all other duties required as requested by supervisor/management


  • Valid Class DZ driver's license
  • A minimum of 12 months verifiable, related behind the wheel driving experience (within the last 36 months)
  • Clean 10 year CVOR and Driver’s Abstract (dated within last 30 days)
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships with key customers
  • Ability to understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records
  • Ability to drive the vehicle safely in accordance with all traffic regulations
  • Ability to complete compliance paperwork and all shipping documents/bill of ladings 
  • Ability to complete customer communication forms in accordance with DSCL Waste Rejection Protocol
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to complete routes in accordance with schedules
  • Ability to adhere to all internal policies, as well as all federal and provincial legislative requirements 
  • Ability and knowledge to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargo
  • Pass a driver's road test or equivalent
  • Possess (or obtain) a valid MTO medical certificate
