The Business Manager is responsible for the sales of Daniels Sharpsmart Canada LTD. product lines and services to hospital and other medical facility target accounts in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. 

Key product lines includes:

  • Biomedical Waste
  • Medismart
  • Sharpsmart
  • Ecoship

The position requires a high level of understanding of the interrelationships of multiple customer departments and committees with potential and existing customers. A high level of negotiating and solution selling skills is required. This role will be considered "remote" and the selected incumbent must be comfortable with travelling within the region to meet customers for business.


  • Achieve sales quotas for the territory as set by the company
    • Key target markets are:
      • Acute Care Facilities
      • Medium Quantity Generator, blood banks, dialysis centers, cancer centers, etc.
      • Small Quality Generators, medical office buildings, surgery centers, etc.
  • Develop a business plan for the territory using SalesForce.com as the basis for the plan, detailing key targets, etc.
  • Using the Business Plan developed for the territory, formulate an effective customer call strategy to maximize opportunities in the territory, formulate an effective customer call strategy to maximize opportunities in the territory, utilizing Salesforce.com as the primary Customer Relationship Management tool
  • Utilizes pipeline management to ensure sales plan is met and all opportunities are recorded in Salesforce.com
  • In conjunction with the National Manager, constantly review all sales activities, targets, and strategies in order to maximize results
  • Ensure customer needs are effectively met and build productive customer relationships
  • Be accountable for customer satisfaction for accounts won and accounts being worked on
  • Participate in the sales planning, sales strategies, territorial coverage, and budgeting processes
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly analysis of the territory for the National Manager, Business Development and Senior Executive Team.
  • Develop tactics and strategies to develop long-term commitment with key current and potential customers
  • Attend all sales and product related meetings
  • Performs other duties as may be required by supervisor


  • BS, BA Four Year Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience sales, account management and customer service experience required; selling/working with customers within a medical facility considered a strong asset
  • Must be able to professionally present the features, advantages, and clinical benefits of all our products and to compare their performance with competitive products
  • Bilingualism is considered a strong asset
  • Solutions selling experience
  • Experience utilizing SalesForce 
  • Computer literacy skills, especially in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Comfortable with travelling and working remotely/independently
